Begin with the right question

A standard, certificate and declaration are not the same document

Reliable approval starts by identifying what evidence the buyer, engineer, importer or authority actually needs. A logo on a product image cannot replace the document and model-scope review.

Document availability and applicability are confirmed against the exact SENTOP model, requested variant and destination market.
01

Product Standard

Defines a technical scope, characteristics, test methods or safety requirements for a product family. The standard reference alone does not prove that every model has been evaluated to it.

02

Test Report

Records tests performed on identified samples under defined methods and conditions. Review the report number, tested model, ratings, deviations and issuing laboratory.

03

Certificate

States a certification decision for a defined product or model family under a named scheme. Its product scope, attachments and status matter more than the certificate cover page.

04

Declaration

A declaration identifies the manufacturer, product, applicable legislation or standards and responsible signatory. For CE marking, it is the manufacturer who declares conformity.

05

Marking

A product mark must be interpreted together with the applicable rules and supporting documents. It does not automatically identify every rating, accessory or customized variant covered.

The applicable standard depends on product construction, input/output, insulation, intended equipment and target market. Review the exact model rather than assigning one generic standard.

Important: A standard listed for a product category is a selection and verification direction, not a claim that every SENTOP model carries every certificate or approval. Request the exact model document package before customer approval or import planning.

How to read a product certificate

Check the scope before you approve the logo

A useful certificate review answers six questions. If one answer is missing, request the attachment or supporting report before assuming the ordered product is covered.

01
Who is named?Compare certificate holder, manufacturer, factory and supplier roles.
02
Which exact models are included?Check every suffix, rating, pole count, accessory and listed family attachment.
03
Which standard edition applies?Confirm the cited edition and whether the customer's required version differs.
04
What ratings and conditions were evaluated?Review electrical limits, environment, installation and any stated restrictions.
05
Who issued the document?Identify the certification body or laboratory and verify status where a public database exists.
06
Is the document still aligned with the product?Compare issue date, revision, model changes, label data and current production reference.
Document verification workflow

Move from a general request to an approvable model package

This five-stage path keeps technical, quality, purchasing and shipment documents tied to the same product reference.

STEP 01

Define the Requirement

Provide application, model or ratings, quantity, destination and customer document list.

OutputRequired evidence and missing-data list.
STEP 02

Map the Standard

Identify the relevant product standard, market rules and exact function being approved.

OutputApplicable standard direction.
STEP 03

Match the Model Scope

Compare model codes, variants, ratings, accessories and report or certificate attachments.

OutputDocument-to-model mapping.
STEP 04

Review the Evidence

Check issuer, report references, edition, status, declarations and material information.

OutputBuyer review package.
STEP 05

Release the Order

Tie the approved model, label, packaging, documents and order revision together.

OutputControlled purchasing reference.
Common document approval mistakes

Avoid four shortcuts that create compliance risk

01 / LOGO ONLY

Approving from a product image

A CE, RoHS or certification logo shown in a photo does not identify the declaration, report, model list or applicable ratings.

Better check: obtain the supporting document for the exact model.
02 / FAMILY NAME

Assuming every variant is covered

Different current ratings, pole counts, controllers, materials or accessories may not share the same evidence scope.

Better check: compare the complete ordered code and attachment.
03 / STANDARD NUMBER

Treating a standard as a certificate

A datasheet reference to a standard is useful technical information, but it is not automatically third-party certification.

Better check: define whether a report, certificate or declaration is required.
04 / ASSEMBLY ASSUMPTION

Using component documents for a complete panel

Certificates for individual devices do not alone establish conformity of the finished switchboard or machine assembly.

Better check: review assembly-level design and verification responsibilities.
SENTOP terminal block dimensional and product identity inspection
Product evidence begins with identityModel, dimensions, markings, accessories and agreed inspection points should all refer to the same approved product.
Prepare a useful document enquiry

Send the data that connects the paperwork to the product

The most efficient request identifies the product and approval purpose. This helps separate essential files from documents that do not apply to the order.

Understand what CE, RoHS and REACH actually communicate

These references serve different legal and supply-chain purposes. The exact obligations depend on product scope, economic-operator role, materials and destination.

CE Marking

CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets applicable EU legal requirements. It is not an approval issued by the European Union, and it applies only where relevant EU legislation requires it.

European Commission guidance

RoHS

EU RoHS rules restrict specified hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment within their scope. Product, exemption and material details must be reviewed rather than inferred from a logo.

European Commission guidance

REACH & SVHC Information

Candidate List substances in articles can create communication or notification obligations under defined conditions. The list changes, so the requested statement should identify its date and product scope.

Standards and certificates FAQ

Questions before approving electrical product documents

Use these answers to prepare a clearer request for your engineering, quality, sourcing or import process.

Can I download all SENTOP certificates from one page?
Documents should be requested by exact product model because different series, ratings, variants and destination markets can require different evidence. Send the required model or product data and identify the document type your team needs.
Does a CE mark mean the EU issued a certificate?
No. CE marking is a manufacturer's declaration that the product meets applicable EU legal requirements. The responsible conformity procedure and supporting technical documentation depend on the product and legislation involved.
How do I know whether a certificate covers my model?
Compare the complete model code, suffix, ratings and variant with the certificate scope and all attachments. Also review the standard edition, issuer, report references, restrictions and current status.
Is a test report the same as a product certificate?
Not necessarily. A test report records tests on identified samples and conditions. A certificate represents a certification decision under a particular scheme and scope. Your approval specification should state which form of evidence is required.
Can component certificates be used for a complete distribution box or control panel?
Component documents support product selection, but they do not alone establish conformity of the complete assembly. The assembly designer or manufacturer must review the relevant assembly requirements, integration and verification responsibilities.
What should I send when requesting RoHS or REACH information?
Provide the exact product model, material or variant if known, destination, customer requirement and required statement date. REACH Candidate List information is time-sensitive, so the statement date and covered product matter.
Can OEM labels or packaging use the same documents as a standard SENTOP model?
The underlying product and evidence must be reviewed together with the requested model identification, label, packaging and responsible economic-operator information. Do not assume that a branding or product modification has no document impact.
What is the fastest way to receive the correct document package?
Send the model, ratings, quantity, destination country, application and the customer's required document list. If no exact model is known, send photos, drawings or functional requirements so the product direction can be reviewed first.
